SOLAR POWER FAQs

Doesn't this require having half my house ripped apart and turned upside down?
The installation is completed in one day with minimal disruption to your home. We'll start work in the morning and be finished by around tea time. As considerate and trusted tradespeople we care for your home as if it were our own, we only used full qualified and licensed CORGI gas heating engineers ensuring that any work we do fully complements and is compatible with any existing or new hot water heating system.

How does a Solar Hot Water System work?
How it works: The solar panel works using the diffused sun rays typical of British weather, enabling the panel to absorb and transmit energy even on cloudy days and during winter. The solar hot water system works in partnership with any existing hot water system automatically taking the lead roll in producing free hot water using no gas. Your old boiler takes a back seat and stays off and only cuts in on occasion. You also have the option to manually switch between solar and your existing boiler if you choose.

What About Wind Power, Planning Permission, Property Values
While opinions about the aesthetics of wind power vary, the reality is unless your property sits on a few acres of land on the crest of the hill it is unlikely to be able to provide much of your electricity needs. Basic physics dictates that in order to produce a significant amount of power wind turbines need to be big. So whilst they may generate favourable column inches for some political leaders, a mini wind-turbine will have very little impact on your energy consumption. Wind turbines require planning permission, unlike our solar hot water heating panels with its award winning design which sit attractively and inconspicuously on your roof enhancing both the appearance and value of your property. This is good if you want to hire it or sell it later.

Shouldn't I be using Solar Power to generate my electricity
Using Solar Power to generate electricity is much less efficient and more expensive than using it to provide your hot water. Current solar photovoltaic (PV) systems will only provide at most 30% of your electricity needs, whilst our Solar Hot Water Heating Systems provide up to 70% of your hot water needs all year long, come sun, cloud, hail or snow.

Can I use a Solar Hot Water System with a combination boiler?
Yes, we can adapt the system so that they work together.

Can I use my existing hot water cylinder?
Yes, it's possible to specially adapt the system to work with the existing hot water cylinder.

Can Solar Hot Water Heating power my central heating system?
Solar Hot Water Heating together with an Under Floor Heating System is the perfect combination of water and space heating.
